The (In)visible

The (In)visible is a 1:25 concept model I built for Mandala(a production to be held in mid-August 2022), exploring the idea of “self” as an illusion. Because I made the model use mirrors, spectators can see an image of the self in the mirrors when looking at the model. I also put a camera to photograph the spectators from behind.However, unknown to the spectators, I applied one-way
mirror film on the glasses, making them transparent on one side and reflective on the other. I also concealed a camera under the model (the transparent side); This is to live-stream the face and back of spectators on a screen through a projection apparatus.

The “self” is placed into the exhibit via a camera incorporated into it. Simultaneously, the spectator is looking and being looked at. Every visit is different because the spectators’ re􀏐lections (the specular body in the space) formed part of the experience.
